In more ways than one. I haven done much in close to a year, in equal parts due to lack of motivation and lack of funds for supplies after I lost my job in January. Now I have a new job, and while it doesnt pay much, it does give me enough money to buy a pack of exacto blades and a sheet of cardstock every once in a while. Working again also gives me the drive to do something with my time off, namely papercutting. I've been working for about a month or so on pieces to go in cards for an online secret santa, and that's been a lot of fun to get me back in the groove. 7 full-color pieces of varying complexity may have been a bit of overkill for

Hi, I'm The-Old-Y, and while this is a brand new account, I am not new to DA. Not by a long shot. I used to draw, and still do sometimes, but it's not something I'm that good at. But 8 years have passed since making my original account, and while I have not been on DA much in the last 2, I've grown up and the old account was just too full of bad art and immature memories. But I found my new love, papercutting. It's been my relaxing pastime over the last few months and I finally decided to go ahead and share what I've made.

Really looking forward to the Christmas cards you might come up with this year too. If you are participating again in the exchange, that is.

I haven't missed it since 2014, even if some years I don't do paper cut art. I'll be doing 5 this year, the most I've ever done, but since I'll be keeping the paper cut portions small time shouldn't be a problem. Now I just hope they get posted this year, none of mine last year got posted. Good luck with your card(s) as well if you're doing any.

Unfortunate to hear about last year, especially considering how much effort goes into these. And yes, I signed up for 3 this year after taking a break for a few years. I have my outlines ready, I just need to get them printed and find some nice colored paper.

Great to hear! You can get single sheets in the scrapbooking section of big craft stores. Not sure if you'll run into the same problem, but in my area I haven't been able to find xacto blades in a few months. Had to order them online.
